You have been running a lot! So your running shoes are probably getting beat up pretty good. When you go out to get a new pair, make sure you get the right ones. We have a helpful guide for minimalist shoes that work great in the weight room and the trail.

As you venture outside for your cardio day, you may want to wear a different pair of shoes from the ones you wear in the gym. Your workout clothes should also fit the environment you work out in.

Now, you don’t need to go out and by a whole new fitness wardrobe. Just like gains, getting the right apparel and equipment takes time. Get what you need now, and the rest will come as you advance.

That goal to burn fat begins by putting pressure on your systems. The up-and-down speeds you experience in high-intensity interval training strain your cardiovascular and respiratory systems—and for good reason.

Your body adjusts to these stimuli. As you work harder and harder, your body will improve its functions to match. In the process, you burn fat and lose weight. That matches your goals, right? So keep working: Walk, jog, and sprint. You’ll reach your goals.

No one with any salt will dare skip leg day. Learn this. Know this. Your legs will grow to carry you. Don’t overlook the importance; we can’t impress upon it enough.

On the glute bridge: put a towel on your lap to avoid any direct pressure from the barbell. Don’t let your back slide up or down the bench or floor. Just use your hips to complete the movement. This will work your glutes of course, but also your posterior chain.

Upper-body training isn’t all just for looks. Yes, you probably want a six-pack and you want a sweet biceps peak, or maybe it’s just a matter of getting smaller as you get back to fit.

What this program truly does is start building strength. You need to be stronger—everyone does. Daily tasks become easier as you become more adept at lifting weights. In real life, those weights are moving boxes, TV sets, couches, or even friends who need a lift.

Think about that! Every rep, every exercise, every circuit brings you closer to moving things in your life from that file under “I can’t” to a file under, “I can.” That’s powerful stuff. That’s real change.
