New Exercise and Fitness Review
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year! (As if you couldn’t tell by my vampire getup.) I love the fun atmosphere and the weird traditions, but most of all, I love the parties.
Sure, it may seem strange to dress up in your finest sexy astronaut or Wayne Campbell costume to go to a friend’s house for adult Halloween, but it’s the perfect excuse to develop some spooky treat recipes! Remember that bowl of peeled grapes you thought were eyeballs as a kid?
Even if you don’t like going to parties or wearing a costume, it’s pretty impossible not to enjoy a delicious Halloween-themed snack, especially if it’s full of protein. That’s why I came up with these fun recipes. You can bring them to a get-together or just have them at home. Who says you can’t savor the Halloween spirit in your own kitchen?
These five recipes are fun, easy to make, and macro-friendly. Kids will like them, adults will like them, and even your neighborhood Halloween hater will like them!
1 MONSTER BALLS
A creepy take on the popular protein energy balls, these protein treats are perfect for a post-workout meal or fun family snack. There aren’t many calories in these, so feel free to eat the whole batch! If you do, just make sure you make more for the rest of your family to enjoy.
- 1/2 cup Fiber One cereal
- 2 tbsp Walden Farms sugar-free pancake syrup
- 1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter, slightly melted
- 1/2 scoop BSN Peanut Butter Cookie Syntha-6
- 10 dark chocolate chips
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
- Using hands, form mixture into five messy balls.
- Top each ball with two dark chocolate chips for eyeballs.
- Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- After balls set, share or enjoy by yourself!

2 GHOST BROWNIES
Kick your regular protein brownie recipe up a notch with these ghostly additions! Not only do the brownies and sauce taste amazing, but the presentation is just too cute. I guarantee that if you bring a plate of these to a party, you’ll get nothing but compliments. Their awesome nutrition facts just make them even better!
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp Walden Farms sugar-free pancake syrup
- 1/2 cup black beans, rinsed
- 1/2 scoop BSN Chocolate Peanut Butter Syntha-6
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 banana, sliced into 6 pieces
- 2 tbsp nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp Walden Farms sugar-free pancake syrup
- Dark chocolate chips
- Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
- In a bowl, blend egg, 2 tbsp syrup, black beans, protein, and baking soda with a small blender or hand mixer.
- Pour batter into a greased 4×6 baking pan.
- Top with 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips.
- Bake 18-25 minutes. After cooling, cut into 6 brownies.
- In a bowl, combine yogurt and syrup to make a sauce.
- Coat banana pieces in sauce, then fix two chocolate chips on each banana piece for eyes. You now have ghosts.
- Place a ghost on top of each brownie, and drizzle with any remaining sauce. If desired, secure banana pieces to brownies with toothpicks.

Ghost Brownies PDF
3 PUMPKIN SPICE BARK
You can’t go anywhere in September or October without being bombarded by pumpkin spice flavors and smells. Why fight it? This pumpkin spice bark is absolutely delicious. If you can share it, you’re a stronger person than me!
- 2 tbsp canned pumpkin
- 1/2 scoop BSN Cinnamon Bun Syntha-6
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- Pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Walden Farms sugar-free syrup
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
- Place a layer of plastic wrap over a plate.
- Pour mixture onto the plastic wrap to form an even layer—it doesn’t have to be perfect.
- Drizzle with 1 tsp of extra syrup and another pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon.
- Place in the freezer for 45-60 minutes, or until hard.
- Break into pieces and serve immediately. Store leftovers in the fridge.

4 JACK O’LANTERN ICE CREAM
OMG, this is seriously cute. The ice cream has a delicate flavor and looks fantastic in a little orange jack-o’-lantern. The recipe is really easy to double, triple, or even quadruple if you want to make more.
- 1 orange
- 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tbsp nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 scoop BSN Orange Smoothie Syntha-6
- 1 tbsp Walden Farms sugar-free syrup
- Slice the top off an orange. Use a knife to slice around the inside of the orange peel, then scoop out the insides with a spoon.
- Blend orange flesh, almond milk, Greek yogurt, protein, and syrup together.
- Pour into an ice cream maker.
- Let freeze and churn for 15-20 minutes.
- While waiting, carve a face into the orange peel.
- Place finished ice cream inside empty orange peel.
- Serve immediately.

5 STRAWBERRY GHOSTIES
Strawberries are good, vanilla protein is good, and chocolate chips are good. Combine all three and you have a great recipe. It’s the easiest recipe ever, but the product looks much more difficult. Enjoy the smiles these little guys bring out!
- 1/2 scoop BSN Vanilla Cake Batter Syntha-6
- 2 tbsp nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp Walden Farms calorie-free syrup
- 6 strawberries
- 12 dark chocolate chips
- Pieces of Fiber One cereal
- In a bowl, mix protein, Greek yogurt, and syrup to make a sauce.
- Dip strawberries in sauce until coated.
- When strawberries are covered, use chocolate chips to make eyes, and pieces of cereal to make a mouth.
- Serve immediately.
