The ultimate wellbeing festival

New Exercise and Fitness Review

We love a good festival. But when a festival mixes entertainment with activities such as wild-swimming, forest walks and yoga, it really grabs our attention. Enter, Wilderness Festival. From the 7th to the 10th August, Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire, will see a plethora of music, theatre, arts, feasts, family fun and the return of The Sanctuary.

For entertainment: As well as being able to enjoy live music from London Grammar, Burt Bacharach, Metronomy, Jessie Ware, Sam Smith and many more, there’s theatre performances, multi-sensory experiences and one-off spectacles as you follow troupes through the woods, gather for a lakeside reading or settle in to watch scenes unfold on a stage before you.

For foodies: Feast at long table banquets with Simon Rogan, Angela Hartnett and Russell Norman and enjoy the tastes from Sam & Sam Clark’s Moro Souk Tent, St. John Dining Room & Bakery and Hix. In addition, take part in The Wilderness Cookery School where you can learn to make tapas with Moro, take a master class with Simon Rogan or decorate cakes with the winner The Great British Bake-Off in all day workshops.

For those with kids: There’s plenty to do for families with magic and games but Wilderness also boasts boutique babysitting from Mortimer Nannies to give mum and dad a break to enjoy the spa offerings of The Sanctuary.

For the ultimate in pampering: Take care of your wellbeing and enjoy REN facials in heated hand crafted yurts, or appreciate a Wilderness Signature massage with oils from Mama Mio. There will be a team of healers offering Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Physiotherapy, Psychic reading, Tarot, Thai Massage and loads more. Take part in acro-yoga, ariel yoga and trapeze school or attend a three day yoga session with Seohyr and Tanja. Meditate with Andy Puddicombe’s world-renowned Headspace team with a three-day programme or take the simpleictic route and enjoy the spa by the lake. Freshen up with solar showers and REN products and refuel with Organic Wild Wellbeing Café and Apothecary bar serving organic juices, healthy cocktails and food all day. Sounds like bliss.

Weekend tickets started at £126.50. Head wildernessfestival.com for more info.
