New Exercise and Fitness Review
Last week, the new 15-strong line up for the 2015 Wiggle Honda professional women’s cycling team met up for the first time to train and we were there to meet them!
Although this is the first time that the new team line up has officially been unveiled and its members assembled, Wiggle Honda team have already enjoyed success in the 2015 season. In January, Chloe Hosking scored the team’s first win of the season by taking stage 1 of the Bay Classic Series, and then went on to come second overall in the Tour of Qatar where Wiggle Honda won the team’s classification. The team’s newest, most recent 2015 signing, Peta Mullens, also won the Australian National Omnium Championship. In 2015, Giorgia Bronzini has already taken stage wins in both the Bay Cycling Classic and Tour Down Under. Wiggle Honda’s recently crowned Dual World Track Champion, Annette Edmondson finished the Tour Down Under with the Green Sprinter’s Jersey. Wiggle Honda is a British team with a truly international DNA, with team members representing NINE nations. Based in Belgium, the team was formed in 2012 by manager and rider Rochelle Gilmore who won the gold medal for Australia in the 112km Road Racing event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Meet the 2015 Wiggle Honda Womens Cycling Team
In a rare instance, teammates and husband/wife both won Best Deadlifter at a WABDL meet this past weekend in Cleveland, Texas. They both have been competing together for 5 years and this was the first time they were both humbled to win the award among some great lifters. Amparo Barajas hit 319 weighing in at 120pds (123wtclass) and Alex Barajas hit 507 weighing in at 159.8 (165wtclass). Alex also competed RAW even though WABDL does not distinguish raw lifters. They are looking forward to their next meet together!
